The eco/ethical and responsible aspect of the event
Stop the waste! Once again this year, thousands of waste items have been picked up along the Roc d’Azur course. The Roc organisers have decided to react and make riders more aware. The best waste… is the waste that doesn’t exist! As such avoiding creating waste is the first step to giving concrete expression to not debasing the Roc course. Each year, several kilograms of detritus are picked up along the Roc d’Azur course. Among them, some are very disruptive for wild fauna (cigarette butts, litter, inner tubes). In order to make racers aware of this, the organisers are encouraging racers to take their waste home with them or to use the dustbins around the Nature Base.

Offered for the first time back in 2005, this race is an event for teams of two racers in the heart of Fréjus. The principle is simple: for 30 mins, competitors take turns cycling along an undulating urban course, created especially for the occasion in the town’s streets. The goal of the competition is for each couple to complete a maximum number of laps along a 1 km course in a time of 30 mins (for each semi-final and for the top 15, qualification for the 30 min final). Some skid, others pass very close to walls and houses, the youngest put on a show, but one thing for sure is that everyone loves it. The principle behind the race has been unanimously approved for the past 3 years. Don’t hesitate to try your luck this year. 2 competitors per team Any type of bike Compulsory helmet wearing Compulsory medical certificate or FFC/UFOLEP/FSGT licence... o tariff 20€ per team o 70 teams o 3 starts with 2 semi-finals and a final o 1st start at 1900 hrs, 2nd start at 1935 hrs, and the top 15 from each semi-final qualify for the final at 2030 hrs A single ranking, the scratch ranking To register: www.rocazur.com or www.activeeurope.com Saturday 11 October 2008
