Communiqué 4 : Roel Paulissen, King of the Roc d’Azur
Belgian Roel Paulissen will leave his mark on the Roc d’Azur and the steep trails of the Maures massif. For the second year running, the world champion (Team Factory Racing) pulled off a double by winning the Roc d’Azur (53 km), two days after taking victory in the Roc Marathon (83 km). On Sunday 11th October, at the Fréjus nature base in France’s Var region, Roel Paulissen triumphed by finishing (2 hrs 11 mins 51 s) with a 27 second lead over Columbian Leonardo Paez (Team TX Active Bianchi, 2 hrs 12 mins 18s) and more than a minute ahead of Spaniard Ruben Ruzafa Cueto (Team Orbea, 2 hrs 12 mins 56 s). In a summery atmosphere, Roel Paulissen became king of the Roc. Despite being introverted by nature, he danced on his bike prior to crossing the finish line…

Communiqué 3 : Laëtitia le Corguillé holds onto the BMX UCI World Cup
The Roc d’Azur clearly agrees with Laëtitia Le Corguillé. In a summery atmosphere and for the third year running, the French cyclist took victory in the BMX world cup during the 4th and final race, contested this Saturday 10th October on the Fréjus leisure base in France’s Var region. The Olympic number two (2008) will certainly recall that her title was only in the bag after a final full of upsets in the rankings. Even though she won all the races she contested till this final race, the Breton BMX rider had to battle solidly to gain control. “We all made mistakes in this last race, she assures. I came out of it well, but it was really full‐on!”

Communiqué 2 : Aleksandra Dawidowicz wins the Roc Dames in style
She had to wait till the last 50 metres before she could glimpse victory. Polish cyclist Aleksandra Dawidowicz (CCC Polkowice, 2 hrs 02 mins 38 s) won the Roc Dames this Saturday 10th October at the base in Fréjus, by putting in a strong sprint ahead of her compatriot Maja Woszkcowska (CCC Polkowice, 2 hrs 02 mins 38 s) and Austrian Elisabeth Osl (Central Ghost Team, 2 hrs 02 mins 40 s), winner of the 2008 event. Another Polish racer, Magdalena Sadecka (CCC Polkowice), finished this 42 km event in fourth. As such Poland has achieved the feat of getting three mountain bikers in the top four spots. 5 mins 28 s behind Aleksandra Dawidowicz, French cyclist Cécile Ravanel (Team Lapierre International) finished in 5th position, after managing to stay with the leaders for around the first hour.

Communiqué 1 : The Roc d’Azur 2009, another dimension.
The main mountain bike event is attracting an increasing number of amateurs and
enthusiasts alike. With 4 months to go, 8,285 people are already registered in the
Roc d’Azur 2009, that is 25% more than during the same period last year. It has to
be said that in this two wheel kingdom, there is a level to suit everyone, whether it
be an opportunity to enjoy some time with the family, a challenge amongst friends,
the chance to discover new innovations in the mountain bike market, or the
opportunity to admire the ‘riders’ stunts, the Roc d’Azur 2009 programme is open
to one and all.
