A World-Class Tri Roc

The podiums at Roc d'Azur often showcase top talent. The Tri Roc, the flagship event of the second day of the 39th edition of Roc d'Azur, will be no exception, featuring familiar faces from the world of podiums. After completing the 1500m swim, 30km mountain bike ride in the Massif des Maures, and finally, the 9.6km trail run on the natural base, 22-year-old Jules Dumas from Rodez secured his second Tri Roc victory. 'When you win a race, it's a matter of respect to come back and defend your title,' says the U23 cross-triathlon world champion. 'Just like last year, I had a lot of fun. Winning at Roc d'Azur is very important for athletes like us because it gives us a lot of visibility. A week after the World Championships, I eased off training a bit, and the goal was also to have a lot of fun. And that goal has also been fulfilled.' He comfortably finished ahead of Aurélien Pinel and Frédéric Delarce.

In the women's race, Alysée Patiès, already crowned Tri Roc champion in 2019 and 2021, easily added another victory to her collection, finishing over 20 minutes ahead of Solène Marnoni. Leading from the start of the swim, she was able to control her race. 'Tri Roc is a special event because I started with mountain biking when I was 15, and I used to come to Roc d'Azur,' Alysée recalls. 'It's great to run just for fun. The atmosphere at Roc is unique, and I've always loved finishing my seasons here in the sunshine.' The Tri Roc relay was won by Frédéric Dive, Mikael Fanget, and Juliette Duquesne.

In the other races of the day, Marc Colom and Sara Michielsen (BEL) (Garmin Roc Masters), Lucas Deloison and Cristel Hubacher (SUI) (Mid Roc), Jarne Vandersteen (BEL) and Ilona Chavaillaz (Roc Trophy #2), Loic Ladreyt/Julien Saussac, and Célia Aubard/Pierre Darbeau (Roc Tandems) were the other winners of the day."
