In the same vein as the EnduRoc but in an XC version. A race which will encourage exchanges among competitors. Although the course is identical to last year’s one, the specials have been modified and marked out on a variety of sections, alternating climbs and descents, trails and single tracks. Four timed specials on the schedule:

In the foreground, you’ll see the Gulf of Fréjus and the famous red rocks of the Esterel Massif are not far off. In the distance you’ll see the Mercantour.

So, if you like MTB as much as picture postcard scenery, the Rando Altitude is the race for you ;-)

You then enter the transition area on the beach before attacking 24 km of mountain biking with 335m of elevation gains and losses overall. The bike section is a fairly fast route through the Petites Maures, reaching its highest point at km 10. It will be followed by a 5-km section on a hilly landscape which will be favourable to the best technical specialists, before going back to the Base Nature with five very fast kilometres.

The running section will be two relatively flat 5-km loops, but which resemble a cross-country course with many changes of pace.

This is the event’s flagship race!

Although it moved from Ramatuelle to Fréjus nearly twenty years ago, the DNA of the 1984 version remains intact.

Fifty-odd kilometres across abrasive, sometimes sandy, sometimes rocky, terrain, which alternates between endless climbs and slopes so steep that riders’ noses almost hit their wheels with the effort needed to climb. This is a noble event. It has lent a certain celebrity to places such as Le Bougnon, the Fournel descent, La Gaillard, the Sentier des Douaniers and many more.

A race of attrition, a real, personal challenge that every mountain biker should take up one day in their cycling career.

In 2020:

  • The 8 start waves will set off every 25 mins (instead of every 15 minutes in previous years) to make conditions on the courses more comfortable and smoother
  • The Dames & Espoirs Dames categories will share the same track to provide them with the visibility and the atmosphere that they deserve
